Sexual Assault Counselling
Experiences of sexual abuse or sexual assault can deeply affect a person’s emotional, psychological, and physical well-being. Survivors may struggle with fear, shame, guilt, anger, confusion, trust issues, and emotional numbness. Each survivor’s experience and healing journey is unique.
Sexual abuse counselling provides a safe, respectful, and trauma-informed space where survivors can share their experiences at their own pace—without pressure, judgment, or fear. Therapy focuses on emotional safety, validation, and gradual healing.
Key Aspects Covered in Sexual Assault Counselling:
-
Emotional trauma and distress after abuse or assault
-
Fear, anxiety, or panic responses
-
Shame, guilt, or self-blame
-
Trust issues and relationship difficulties
-
Sleep disturbances, flashbacks, or intrusive memories
-
Difficulty expressing emotions or feeling disconnected
-
Understanding emotional reactions after trauma
Through NGO experience, survivors can also be sensitively guided toward authentic legal support, women and child rights organizations, or other professional services—only if and when they feel ready. Counselling always prioritizes emotional safety, confidentiality, and the survivor’s choice.
