“Therapy, for me, is not about fixing people. It’s about helping them understand themselves better & move forward with clarity & strength.”

I’m Punam J., a psychologist and relationship counsellor based in Pune, with over 10 years of professional experience in the field of mental health and emotional well-being.

My journey into psychology didn’t begin with textbooks alone — it began with people. Real stories. Silent struggles. Unspoken emotions. Over the years, working closely with individuals, couples, young adults, and families has shaped not just my professional identity, but also the way I understand human behaviour, relationships, and emotional pain.

I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, along with formal education in Human Resources and Finance, which has helped me understand people not only emotionally, but also within their social, professional, and relational environments. This blend of psychological insight and real-world understanding reflects in the way I connect with those who come to me.

As a professional, I value ethics, confidentiality, sensitivity, and respect above everything else. As a person, I believe in listening without assumptions and meeting people exactly where they are — without judgment or pressure to “be okay.”

Over the years, I have worked with individuals navigating anxiety, emotional confusion, relationship challenges, self-esteem issues, life transitions, and inner conflicts. I’ve also had the opportunity to engage with people from diverse backgrounds — different age groups, professions, family structures, and life experiences — which has deeply enriched my perspective as a mental health professional.

What truly defines my work is my belief that seeking help is not a weakness, but a sign of awareness and courage.

Today, through Aasmi Psychological Services, I continue my work with a clear intention:
to offer a professional, safe, and emotionally grounded space where people feel heard, respected, and supported — without labels, pressure, or fear.

What You’ll Experience When We Work Together

I listen without judgment

You don’t need to filter your thoughts or emotions. This is a safe, confidential space where you can talk openly and honestly.

Simple, practical psychology

I explain things in an easy, relatable way—no heavy therapy language. Together, we focus on understanding your emotions, resolving inner conflicts, and finding practical ways to cope.

Real conversations, not formal sessions

Our sessions feel more like real conversations than formal therapy. You can talk freely, even if your thoughts feel messy or unclear. I explain things in a simple, practical way, so psychology feels useful and not overwhelming.

Support beyond sessions (when needed)

I understand that emotions don’t always wait for the next appointment. In difficult moments, limited support through WhatsApp messages or calls is available within ethical boundaries.

Guidance Beyond Mental Health—When Needed

Through my long-standing work with NGOs, I have experience supporting clients facing serious social and legal challenges, including issues related to:

  • Child sexual abuse

  • Child and women’s rights

  • Sexual violence

  • Domestic violence

While therapy remains my primary role, I can help you understand the emotional impact of such situations, guide you sensitively, and connect you with trusted legal professionals or authentic NGOs if support beyond counselling is needed. My aim is not just to help you feel better now—but to help you feel stronger, more aware, and confident in handling future emotional challenges on your own.

Empowerment for the Future
My goal is not to make you dependent on therapy. It’s to help you understand yourself better, resolve emotional blocks, and feel empowered to handle future emotional or mental challenges with greater confidence and resilience.
